Pullman: A great story teller

I very much love how well Pullman tells his story in such a way that he doesn't come out and say what he's doing. He's able to use believable characters to move forward a very anti-authoritarian story while still holding on to the status of a children's book. Because of how awesomely written the writing is, You don't immediately see Lyra's gradual growing up, her lying just comes less frequently and for more important reasons.
